First off, please disregard anything in here that doesn't help you; you can skip it all together if you like. As my general lack of DNWs suggests, I don't have any triggers and hardly any squicks; in the realm of fictional storytelling, I have no morals and I like being convinced to like questionable things. If you already had a story in your heart (or your drafts) and it doesn't line up perfectly with my prompts, you have my enthusiastic permission to go ahead and pursue it.

In general, I am a poly-multi-shipper, by which I mean I ship all over the place, often in parallel, and not to exclusivity. I tend to be fond of canon ships and crack pairs in equal measure. Rarepairs are also wonderful. When I say ship, I mean positive or negative, romantic/sexual/platonic, new or established or even sunk; again, I don't have any squicks or triggers and go both weird and hard, kink-wise, but I also really like gen, so please write whatever makes you happy.

I say this every time but I am very fond of crossovers and cross-canon parallels, so if you're familiar with more than one of these canons and want to give it a try, please do!

As a note for these particular fandoms, I really have both a soft spot for traitors and also an iron-clad loyalty kink. If you feel inspired to write something NSFW (I realize Skullgirls is one of my fandoms this year), I'm just as happy with PWP as something more plotty. Kink list for potential inspiration.

I'm not a stickler on canon-details so please play fast and loose to get to the story/impact you want. I enjoy stories that grapple with questions; they don't necessarily need to provide answers. I'm so excited that you are writing for one of these fandoms! Last year's letter is still accurate so I can keep this short.

Feel free to pull from the novel/manga/comics or your own imagination. I also enjoy crossovers, so if you know I'm familiar with another canon and you want to try your hand, then please do. What if? AUs are fair game, and for several of these ships, probably necessary.

I mention it a few times in the prompts, but I am a poly-multi-shipper so feel free to play fast and loose with every pairing with the exception of Billie/Ruth. They are too canon and my poor heart got attached. I also enjoy both requited and unrequited flavours of pining, so while most of my prompts sound positive, feel free to tear my heart out.

Dear author/artist,

Thank you for writing/arting for me! The majority of my prompts are for fic; if you're primarily an artist, I've included a few suggestions in the prompt proper, but it's still entirely in your hands. I'm always impressed by fanart that suggests a story, but I'm also impressed by pretty scenery and close-ups of humanoids. Humanoids are hard.

Canon compliance is secondary to storytelling for me; in DC and Marvel, I've requested exclusive movieverse versions here, but I'm passingly familiar with comic equivalents, and if you want to mix and match universe details, feel free. Crossovers and crossover ships not listed are all fine by me, although, I'm usually not looking for complete contextual reassignment AUs (e.g. regency au).

I'd be as happy with a gen-focused fic where the ship is a feature, something more romance-centric, or a straight up PWP. Or combinations.

For a lot of these ships, what I'm interested in is devotion, both established and steady or obsessive and unhealthy. Hero worship, professional admiration, physical attraction bleeding together. Characters nursing their ill-advised, poorly-hidden, inconvenient crushes! (Some more ill-advised than others.) I do love my antagonists and my foeyay, but I also love found families, teammates, and loyalty kink, so not everything has to be a disaster.

In terms of kink, I don't have any squicks or triggers and can go pretty hard, kink-wise. I do like problematic elements (say, power differentials) to be addressed if not resolved. Keeping in mind that smut is totally optional...

Other random things I tend to enjoy: unreliable narrators; cameos and polyships, transportation (events taking place on trains, ships, motorbikes, cars, etc); expertise and instruction (competence kink?); extreme temperatures; the sometimes incongruous inclusion of social media; chat-speak; science and pseudoscience; metaphyiscs; consequences; time travel; cracky tropes played straight; when a character experiences unexpected fondness or empathy for someone not necessarily deserving (including themselves).

For Ladypalooza, my gift was the webs we weave, and I still don't know who wrote it. It's so good. The official summary currently reads:

Rose is a prophet of The Horrorterrors of the Furthest Ring, a member of the underground rebellion attempting to overthrow the Condesce, and the author of the obscurely popular newspaper column Horrorterror Horoscopes.

Jade is the hypercritical fan that won't stop writing in.

No-Sburb, Alpha-Beta-Verse-Fusion AU

It's got both beta and alpha universe elements (slay me). It's got identity porn, which is what I requested, but I'm still so so SO delighted whenever I think about it. It's got a TON of cameos of the other homestuck ladies (trolls and Rox). Jade and Rose's courtship is SO FUNNY and there are all these serious things happening at the same time. And the writing is just... you can't even tell it's 9000 words (holy crap) it's so easy to sink right into this world.

I don't have any other recs because I haven't really read around, this contest. Just this one fic over and over. (I feel as though I am harassing my gifter in the comments; they are being super cool about my caterwauling.)

1. [Rose Lalonde; Jade Harley; Rose/Jade; no rating] Any sort of AU where one or both juggles a secret alternate identity over the course of their courtship/relationship. Maybe one is a mythical creature on the side. Or radio host. Or Smash Bros world champion, and the other is her rival. Or what about a superheros(/super-villains) au? We already have Jade as Iron Lass (although by all means, change it up).

I just really really want identity porn. In spite of the term, actual porn is very much not required. I'm usually not a fan of poor communication as a plot device, but I'm such a sucker for this dynamic that my disbelief is not so much suspended as rocketing through the stratosphere at escape velocity. You can get away with anything you need to make it work, so please take it as far as you want for any prompt, either listed or your own idea. If you want to throw in hints of additional ships in there, I would not complain; I am also a beta ot4, rosemary, and general rarepair shipper, and I love cameos.

2. [Latula Pyrope; Neophyte Redglare; pairing?; no rating] This is an AND/OR sort of prompt; I would be delighted to have piece where Latula meets (/shares a frame/otherwise communicates) with her alternate universe self, but I'm just as happy to have something that focuses on just one of them. Some possible activities, solo or together or with someone else: investigate a haunting, organize a rally, adopt a ... creature of any sort, arts-and-crafts with Terezi.

I realize this is not terribly specific. Okay what if... canon-divergent/compliant AU where the Pyralspites somehow allows both iterations of its daughters to leave the equivalent to telepathic emails which they use to compare situations and give each other advice? Or contextual reassignment AU where Latula is introduced to Redglare in a legal professional context, by meet-cute or Terezi, and they wind up talking shop at a skatepark?

Again, while I do want to see Latula and her legislacerator counterpart spending time together and my prompts reflect that, I would also be interested in seeing just one with no mention of the other. Any F/F ship for either of them is fine including with each other, or no ship at all. One request for this prompt specifically (which may not even be necessary in this challenge) is if you write Latula and they come up, to please not include any shipping with Kankri and to keep any side-shipping with Mituna positive.

3. [Jadesprite; The Handmaid; pairing?; no rating] It's a little out there, but I'd like to see something at least loosely canon-compliant between these two. Jadesprite's arc ends in uncertain death with her re-assimilation in Jade, where she seemed to exist as the lingering memories but not as, strictly, a person or personality. Such a nebulous demise might cause some complications for an alien agent of death.

Gee, upon rereading this... there was some strange wording going on in this prompt. I've fixed it a bit here. Basically, I'm looking for art or fic grappling with the ambiguous finality of Jadesprite's death/re-assimilation with Jade and with the Handmaid's mythological association with death. Also, possibly Jadesprite's post-mortem interactions with aliens (cherub and troll). If it helps, I'm very fond of (the complexities in) defining identity, anthropomorphic personifications, the dream bubble mechanic, and Beforus's Damara.

Oh man, if you officially matched me on this fandom, I guess you already know who I am and what I like. Oops. But assuming that isn't the case, I should explain that I'm primarily familiar with the anime canon, but I'm perfectly happy to read about manga canon or an alternate universe of your choice, canon-divergent or contextual reassignment, etc.

Although for Kite and Mito, I'd prefer something canon compliant and my prompts will mostly be of that sort, but if you want to write college AU, diety AU, secret agent AU, or whatever, go for it!

2. Shoujo Kakumei Utena | Revolutionary Girl Utena (7)

You cannot go wrong with future fic. Or, considering the canon, I may just mean post-series fic. This can mean post-graduation fic for anyone, but it could just be how the characters cope at Otori when the duels have ended and the Rose Bride has left. This is a tricky canon, but I'm very easy-going about interpretations so try not to worry about it.

If you want focus on or mix-and-match Adolescence canon, that would be fun. If you want to write contextual reassignment AU, I would prefer if you tried to export the surrealism of the canon along with the general shapes of relationships. In tone, I think I'm mostly looking for something positive and hopeful from this series rather than angsty after everyone has already suffered so much. I ship the heck out of Anthy and Utena, but I'm a poly multi shipper so if you add someone in or write something else, it would interest me just as much.

I'm generally familiar primarily through the anime, although I have passing familiarity with the first game from looking over the shoulders of friends who were actually doing the playing. I'm not as familiar with Golden or Arena et al. or P3 but I'd be perfectly happy with their inclusion. This doesn't have to mean anything to you except that there's a good chance I trust your canon knowledge more than mine; take liberties! I also really like when game mechanics are worked into stories from video game canons, even though in cases like this, I have pretty much no personal experience with said mechanics. If it comes up, I have no preferences as to the protagonist's name, Yu or Souji, and don't care if you keep to his canonical gender.

For most of the characters, I would like to see present or future fic; more of the same of their lives in Inaba, or maybe several years down the line, where they end up and what they end up doing. As far as shipping or side-shipping goes, I am happy with anything and with gen, so whatever would work best for your story is fair game.
