1. L'Engleverse

Joshua Archer; Kali Cutter; Vicky Austin; Adam Eddington
I would be happy with a story that doesn't include all of these characters.
DNW: A primary focus on infidelity drama.

However, a minor focus would be fine if you want to include that sort of tension. I love all of these characters and would be interested in all of their interactions with one another. I also ship all of them with one another (or at least want to see them stuffed into the same space).

Bend time and space so Josh can meet adult Adam again, more established and sure of himself; let grown Kali sweep Vicky off her feet and be swept up in turn; terrify Josh with Kali's underaged advances; take Adam and Vicky on a nice date in Portugal, and maybe meet the Murry-O'Keefe's or run into Kali or any other character in this great weird universe.

Or focus on just one of them, how they grow and change over time (probably not poor Josh), or what they were like when they were young (except maybe Vicky).

2. 琅琊榜 | Nirvana in Fire

Mu Ni Huang; Qin Ban Ruo; Grand Princess Liyang; Consort Jing
I would be happy with a story that doesn't include all of these characters.

First, in case you also find this canon intimidating, I haven't read the (translation of the) novel, and I don't expect you to have either, and I care much more about good storytelling than accurate historical details. However, I love the context of this canon and would prefer something set somewhere in this time and setting (as opposed to, say, a modern AU).

I plucked my favourite women from the list, but truthfully, a fic that focuses on any of the female characters in this canon will make me very happy. In terms of relationships, I'm very interested in their relationships with each other and other women; I also ship Nihuang with her two boys and Xia Dong, Consort Jing with Consort Chen, Liyang with her husband/first love/self-preservation, and Banruo with her duty and her princess(es).

Nihuang must be a like a daughter to Consort Jing the way Lin Shu was like another son; I would love to see them in some sort of team-up managing the new court, carrying on the Jiangzou alliance, or small ways they would care for one another.

Grand Princess Liyang is both isolated and protected by her position away from the inner court and Consort Jing had to jump through hoops to see her, but maybe after the events of the show, they might see each other more often? Or, newly widowed, does Liyang ever travel to visit her first love?

Banruo is so intelligent and empowered by her princess, and if it weren't for MCS, she could have gotten so far. One idea is for a canon divergence AU. [spoilers:] I believe the secret weapon Hua Princess Xuanji left her was to protect her/their interests in the event she succeeded… and Prince Yu truly followed in the footsteps of his father vis-à-vis how he treats his former allies.

3. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Lois Lane; Clark Kent
DNW: major character death.

Ahh the first and true Lois Lane of my heart, and the Clark that loves her. My canon-knowledge is strongest in the earlier seasons, but don't limit yourself—you don't even need to stay in this universe if you carry their characterization along. I am a total sucker for their dynamic, both on and off the job. Also, Superman is where my identity porn was born, so anything with this will be a sure winner.

How do they handle those small problems that come with cohabitating; how do they handle the enormous problems that come with superheroics and investigative journalism? Sic some sort of terrifying Star Trek trope on them or take them curtain shopping; as long as it's this Lois and Clark, I'll be delighted.

4. Wonder Woman (DCEU)

Isabel Maru
DNW: for Isabel to have died with the end of the movie, or a heavy focus on Nazi... stuff if you're going that direction in future fic.

If you just reference it a little, that's fine and I'm sure you would write it thoughtfully and respectfully. I am interested in future!fic for her, and there are all kinds of fan theories of what direction she could choose to take. Does she ever meet Diana again/how would that go down? Does her superpower-vapor ever come into play again? Could it help her survive to the modern-day? Backstory!fic would be really interesting too, or canon divergence. Doctor Poison is such a supervillain name.

Everyone was my favourite character in the movie, but Dr. Maru fascinates me the most. She's a pretty terrible and sadistic person and I'd love to see more of the humanity in her (without negating that). The way Steve chose to flirt with her (flattery; science-talk; nihilism) seemed to be working; ship her with another villain/ess?

5. Dragonriders of Pern – Anne McCaffrey

AIVAS; Masterharper Robinton; Lessa; Menolly
I would be happy with a story that doesn't include all of these characters.

This request is motivated by the fact that I probably had a baby's adolescent crush on every character here. Definitely including AIVAS. I'd love to see any combination of these four in a missing scene or alternate timeline. In terms of tropes, I also love that time-travel is readily available as an option if you want to attempt including that.

I'm sorry my requests are... so wordy. I thought individual prompts might be helpful, but once I got started, it became a bit much. Twenty-nine individuals. Oops.

So feel free to ignore anything. If you had a very clear idea of the kind of story you wanted to execute and it is somehow entirely different from my request, you should write what you want to. I have no triggers and hardly any squicks. Although most of my prompts are gen inclined, take them wherever you would like; I promise I'm good for it. Above all, I want you to have a good time writing.

So just to note:

I'm unconcerned about spoilers, so reference freely. Make things up! Also feel free to combine prompts or toss in other characters I didn't mention.

If you happen to know more than one of my canons and are interested in trying, I really enjoy crossovers and cross-canon parallels. What if Wakaba transfered and had a chance to face her Shadow? Maybe Nanami and Kali know each other from socialite circles. An AU professor Meg stays with Mito while on sabbatical at Whale Island (or reverse). If you are able to make something like that work, I will be so pleased. But if this isn't your cup of tea, don't sweat it - I'm going to be pleased anyway!

Also, I would be interested in seeing queer sexual orientations or gender identities for. . . pretty much any of these women, whether it's casually taken for granted in the fic proper, or addressed and developed as a plot item. Wow, but don't feel pressured to make this happen. The only exception is canon queer couples - I'm attached, although willing to see partners swapped around, but please please don't straighten them.

TL;DR: 1) can't be spoiled 2) crossovers are excellent 3) I do like a casually queer cast - if you are so inclined!

Oh man, if you officially matched me on this fandom, I guess you already know who I am and what I like. Oops. But assuming that isn't the case, I should explain that I'm primarily familiar with the anime canon, but I'm perfectly happy to read about manga canon or an alternate universe of your choice, canon-divergent or contextual reassignment, etc.

Although for Kite and Mito, I'd prefer something canon compliant and my prompts will mostly be of that sort, but if you want to write college AU, diety AU, secret agent AU, or whatever, go for it!

2. Shoujo Kakumei Utena | Revolutionary Girl Utena (7)

You cannot go wrong with future fic. Or, considering the canon, I may just mean post-series fic. This can mean post-graduation fic for anyone, but it could just be how the characters cope at Otori when the duels have ended and the Rose Bride has left. This is a tricky canon, but I'm very easy-going about interpretations so try not to worry about it.

If you want focus on or mix-and-match Adolescence canon, that would be fun. If you want to write contextual reassignment AU, I would prefer if you tried to export the surrealism of the canon along with the general shapes of relationships. In tone, I think I'm mostly looking for something positive and hopeful from this series rather than angsty after everyone has already suffered so much. I ship the heck out of Anthy and Utena, but I'm a poly multi shipper so if you add someone in or write something else, it would interest me just as much.

3. Austin & Murry-O'Keefe Families - Madeleine L'Engle (4)

Kali Cutter - Future fic! I'm torn between wanting to see her redeemed, and wanting to see her femme fatale her way viciously through adulthood. Either or a blend would be fantastic. I would love it if she could be contrived to meet Vicky or Polly again. I... also vaguely ship her with Zach Gray because can you imagine, but don't worry about it.

Meg Murry | Meg O'Keefe - an AU reverse-role future where Meg is an international figure in the field of mathematics (or something) and Calvin is a stay-at-home father for their many offspring. Political intrigue! Mundane conflicts! What stays the same and what changes? Alternatively, an exploration of what went into the choice she made and how she continues to fight the good fight. She faced down evil and annihilation as a child – where did that fire go?

Suzy Austin - Future fic! I am a big fan of future fic for child characters as you'll see. After A Ring of Endless Light and during Troubling a Star, Suzy had her whole life planned out. She knew she wanted to be a vet and knew she had the brains and will to pull it off. Did it happen? Unlike what Vicky thinks, knowing what you want doesn't necessarily make it easier to get it. I want to learn more about Suzy, her struggles from her own point of view, and the person she might have become.

Vicky Austin - Future fic, I'm sorry. I'd like to see her struggle with something a twenty-something person would struggle with. As much as I ship her with Adam (and I really do), I'm fine if they break up. I would really enjoy seeing her taking him to task... It would also be really interesting if she met, even just in passing, Polly, or Meg, (or, because I'm awful, Kali).

4. Persona 4 (6)

I'm generally familiar primarily through the anime, although I have passing familiarity with the first game from looking over the shoulders of friends who were actually doing the playing. I'm not as familiar with Golden or Arena et al. or P3 but I'd be perfectly happy with their inclusion. This doesn't have to mean anything to you except that there's a good chance I trust your canon knowledge more than mine; take liberties! I also really like when game mechanics are worked into stories from video game canons, even though in cases like this, I have pretty much no personal experience with said mechanics. If it comes up, I have no preferences as to the protagonist's name, Yu or Souji, and don't care if you keep to his canonical gender.

For most of the characters, I would like to see present or future fic; more of the same of their lives in Inaba, or maybe several years down the line, where they end up and what they end up doing. As far as shipping or side-shipping goes, I am happy with anything and with gen, so whatever would work best for your story is fair game.

5. Gunnerkrigg Court (4)

Anja Donlan - Anja could be a great portal into the side of court life we mostly don't get to see because a lot of the mysteries of GC are probably things she can take for granted. Speculate and make stuff up! What does she do day to day? Did she ever fall in improbable love with a bird? I'm interested in all of her relationships: with Surma, her husband, her daughter, and Court as a significant entity in her life.

Katerina Donlan - I have such a weakness for robots and artificial intelligence and Kat is all over that. I also love the surrealism of Court life – which in many ways, Kat grew up with! Any study of Kat's relationship with birds or femininity or her hilarious parents would be really great. So would an implausible action-packed random adventure. And definitely shippy stuff with her canon girlfriend and with Annie (platonic or romantic or whatever you would like), if you are up for it.

Lindsey (Gunnerkrigg Court) - Domesticity when you're a giant crab? I'm sorry, I just want to read about the logistics involved with being a giant crab in a school, and/or maybe cute marriage stuff as applied to giant crabs with tiny crab husbands.

Surma Stibnite – Backstory fic? I'm interested in all of Surma's relationships with all of the members of the old cohort, both while they were students, or even after graduation. Although I'm definitely interested in the romantic drama, including Reynardine's part, I'm especially invested in her friendship with Anja, who I'm as curious about as Surma. It would be interesting to see how everyone's relationships might parallel Annie's cast. A more political angle, with her role as medium and her SPOILER background, would also be very neat.

Advisory by hhertzof is a Young Wizards and L'Engleverse crossover. I don't want to give it all away, but we have Nita being wonderful and wonderfully herself, adult Meg being a wizard and a mother, and a fantastic OC rabbit wizard. If you know both series (talk to me!), definitely give it a look over. It scratched my Meg Murry-O'Keefe itch but good!

Freedom/Feel like a motherless child by gloss explores the lives of Alphaverse Jade and Rose in three beautiful, creepy, detail and dialogue rich scenes. There is an excerpt from COtL and Betty Crocker is deliciously terrifying. This was so much fun, you guys.

While I'm reccing things, let me rec two more.

pick apart the day by Vintar was another fantastic piece to come out of rarewomen. It has all the Porrim. Porrim in Beforan society. Porrim mucking around early on in their session. Porrim with all of the Beforan ladies and one more. Gorgeous art and a tattoo theme. It really fleshed out my love for all of the Beforan women and had this great steady build for how life was before and after the game.

Mad Science Family Reunion by Elizabeth Culmer (edenfalling) was my gift from Ladystuck and is also Alphaverse Rose and Jade being sweet and funny and hideous flirts including a whole ton great banter and worldbuilding. It's part of a larger Alphaverse Guardian series if that is your kind of thing (it is mine).

It's a bit fandom-specific, so my apologies if you aren't writing Homestuck. Most things do still apply across the board – including loving all the other characters (at least for these canons) and wanting you to have a good time above all else.

I hope you'll find useful! Or reassuring. Or at least not overwhelming. I get excited and then just words a lot so I think the trick is to skim.

I will just add a general note or two:

If you happen to know more than one of my canons and are interested in trying, I really enjoy crossovers and cross-canon parallels. Dairine and Kat and their robot connection jump to mind. Or... pretty much the entirety of L'Engleverse with Young Wizards. (Incidentally, other canons I hold dear to my heart include Discworld, Animorphs, Firefly, and the DCAU.) If you are able to make something like that work, I will be so pleased. But if this isn't your cup of tea, don't sweat it - I'm going to be pleased anyway!

Homestuck

Oh man, there is a lot here. These are essentially modifications of my Ladystuck prompts which mostly had more than one character focus.

Echidna AND/OR Hemera - What is it like to be a Denizen of the game? How real are they? Maybe the specific bargains they considered for their players. Bargaining with Echidna seems essential to success; Hemera, maybe... not so much. Maybe something to do with their relationship with each other or the other denizens and/or their consorts, or even Gl'bgolyb. I'd just like to see an exploration of their experiences or what it means to be a gaming construct with multiple iterations. Do they know-remember past sessions or are they like Jack and discrete with each set of players? Bonus points for some mythology thrown around and for other weird meta things. If you want to work it in, I have a general weakness for unreliable narrators, the incongruously macabre, and identity politics.

For the lady Guardians, if you are interested, I actually would really love to see them together in any combination and there is more about that following. Otherwise, character studies, slices of life, backstory or future fic. . . I really enjoy the pesterlog aspect of Homestuck.

I'm just going to toss a bunch of ideas and combinations at you - feel free to ignore this entirely. (Shipping in this case means in any kind of relationship, romantic or not, friendly or not.)

(Does she still live near the ocean?)

Dairine Callahan – Aaand future fic, I'm sorry. I'd like to see Dairine faced with daily challenges – for instance, being a woman and entering into a male-dominated field, or juggling being an adult with wizard responsibilities – and toughing through them with whatever degree of diplomacy you think best. Her situation by the latest book is somewhat unresolved, but I'm not as interested in her romantic situation so much as how she is sharpened or mellowed by difficult experiences.

Gunnerkrigg Court
